A vehicle control device calculates an operation amount and a movement state amount for changing the operation amount required for an actual vehicle according to a dynamic vehicle model in which a movement state of a vehicle travelling in accordance with a travel target such as a target trace or a velocity pattern. The vehicle control device judges whether the calculated operation amount and the movement state amount can satisfy a predetermined travel request for the actual vehicle. The operation amount and the movement state amount judged to satisfy the travel request are respectively set as a feed forward (FF) operation amount and a target state amount in state feedback (FB) control.
