In a demodulator of a receiver for receiving a digital broadcast and including a tuner with two or more channels, a silicon substrate on which a demodulation circuit is formed is different from a silicon substrate on which a DRAM for storing demodulation data is formed, because these substrates are fabricated by different processes. When the demodulation circuit has two or more channels, if a conventional demodulation method is directly applied, each channel requires one silicon substrate for a DRAM used for demodulation. If the silicon substrates for DRAMs are unified in order to prevent the dimensions and cost of the demodulator from increasing, the conventional demodulation method causes a conflict between accesses to the DRAM when demodulating each channel. Therefore, DRAM access timings are so adjusted that demodulation processing can be successfully performed even with a single DRAM.
|
