Vehicle rollback preventing device and method are provided to prevent rollback when the vehicle moves back by using a slow way judgment system and a forward/backward detection system instead of a longitudinal-axis G(Gravity) sensor. A vehicle rollback preventing method comprises the steps of: storing information about the stop state of the vehicle(203); reading wheel information by a wheel speed sensor and storing the read wheel information(206); calculating the inclination angle of the vehicle(209); generating brake hydraulic pressure if a backward movement signal of the vehicle is input(212,215); sensing forward and backward movement signals, increasing the brake hydraulic pressure if the forward movement signal is detected, and repeating the steps; and releasing a brake if the backward movement signal is detected(224). |
