摘要 A wheel posture detector for a vehicle is provided to directly measure the steering angle and position of a wheel and to prevent interference with peripheral parts and deterioration of endurance due to contact friction. A wheel posture detector for a vehicle comprises a laser pointer(40) and a luminous sensor(50). The laser pointer is inserted into a ball stud(21) of a ball joint(20) that connects a knuckle(10) and a lower arm(30), and irradiates two laser beams. The luminous sensor is installed at the bottom surface of a sensor housing(55) mounted at the lower portion of a socket that supports the ball stud of the lower arm. A microcomputer(60) measures each coordinate of two detection points, onto which the laser beams are irradiated, to calculate the steering angle and position of a wheel and the position of the wheel in a wheel stroke.
