A method for disassembling and transporting a transformer and a method for disassembling and transporting a core are provided to transport a transformer and a core by dissembling the core and transformer to a plurality of transporting units. A method for disassembling and transporting a transformer includes the steps of: dividing each of a plurality of main cores(2) and yokes(3,4); dividing each of the main cores into at least two portions in a dividing plane of an expansion direction of the main core; separately packaging each of the divided main cores; and transporting the packaged main cores to an installation place under a horizontal state of the metal plate. The core has the main cores and the yokes. The main cores are arranged in parallel with a plane of which a metal plate is extended. The yokes couples end units of the main cores to each other.
