<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether paper is in a regular position in a paper conveying device which handles paper with IC tags, and to separately communicate with individual IC tags in handling paper with a plurality of IC tags. <P>SOLUTION: A shield plate 36 with an opening 34 limiting a communicable range is arranged between the IC tag 30 and an antenna of a reader/writer 28 communicating with the IC tag 30. When the IC tag 30 passes through a position facing the opening 34, communication is established to determine that the paper 14 has passed through the regular position. If communication is not established although the paper 14 has passed, it is determined that the paper has not passed through the regular position. The shield plate 36 and the reader/writer 28 are moved to allow separate communication with the plurality of IC tags provided at the paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
