PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a latent image in a bright region and to widen the range of observation angle where a visualized latent image is visible.

SOLUTION: The layered body 10 for discrimination is provided with: a scattering type polarizing layer 11; and a birefringent layer 12 including a first part 12a which faces a part of the front surface of the polarizing layer 11 and second parts 12b which face other parts of the front surface of the polarizing layer 11 and have slow axis directions different from the slow axis direction of the first part 12a.
