PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing the sticking caused by polarization of liquid crystal molecules and impurities due to a change of the optimum value of a common voltage accompanying a change in the lapse of time of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device provided with the liquid crystal panel 9 comprises: a common voltage generating circuit 5 which supplies a common voltage to a common electrode with which a plurality of liquid crystal cells constituting the liquid crystal panel 9; a liquid crystal driving circuit 2 which inverse-drives the liquid crystal panel 9 are connected in common; a timer 8 which measures a time used by the liquid crystal panel 9; a storage part 10 in which a characteristic data exhibiting a relation between a usage time of the liquid crystal panel 9 and the optimum value of the common voltage; and a control part 4 which decides the usage time until the present of the liquid crystal panel 9 based on the measurement result with the timer 8, gains the optimum value of the common voltage in the usage time while referring to the characteristic data stored in the storage part 10 and controls the characteristic data such that the extent of the common voltage output from the common voltage generating circuit becomes the optimum value.
