PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus of a simple structure capable of reducing reflections and achieving novel visual quality even when a light source is turned off. SOLUTION: The display apparatus 10 is provided with a dial 21 having a design part 22 provided with indices such as a scale and characters; a pointer 24 to be rotated along the front surface of the dial 21 to indicate the indices; a decorative ring 26 arranged in the front surface of the dial 21 to surround the design part 22; a surface glass 28 for covering the dial 21, the pointer 24, and the decorative ring 26; and an LED 32 for irradiating light to the back surface of the dial 21. In the display apparatus 10 which receives light from the LED 32 to make the indices luminous, the front surface of the dial 21 is provided with a smoke layer 39 of which the light transmittance is set lower than that of the surface glass 28.
