<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for controlling an engine discharging exhaust gas in water without making a vessel operator feel odd, in an outboard motor provided with the engine. <P>SOLUTION: When a control selecting part 67 decides that a propeller is not in an operation state involving bubbles, the control selecting part 67 performs an engine control based on a normal control mode (a normal control by a normal control part 68). When the control selecting part 67 decides that the propeller is in the operation state involving bubbles, the control selecting part 67 performs an engine control based on a correction control mode different from the normal control mode (a correction control by a correction control part 69) and controls the engine 30 so that an output may be larger than that in the normal control mode.
