摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight capable of sufficiently mixing color without making the size large in the thickness direction and capable of obtaining light with uniform illuminance at a light-emitting face. <P>SOLUTION: Light guide paths 20 are formed along the rear face of a case 2, and the length of optical path is secured sufficiently without making the backlight 1 large in size in thickness direction. By making the light emitted from each LED 10R, 10G, 10B enter into these light guide paths 20, each wavelength light is compounded efficiently. The light emitted from the terminal edge (outgoing face 22b) of the light guide paths 20 is reflected by a reflecting surface 30 and diffused in the light-emitting face 9a direction, thereby the light-emitting face 9a emits light with high uniformity. In addition, the light guide paths 20 are divided and formed by a first and a second light guide plates 21, 22, and the outgoing and incident faces 21b, 22a are constructed of polyhedrons connecting the surface parts having different elevation angles &theta;1-&theta;3, thereby a half mirror is formed in the middle of the light guide paths 20 and the light compounded in color is also divided and emitted from the middle of the light guide paths 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
