<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store data to be backed up when a power source fails regardless of power consumed by a power consumption device connected to the own device while suppressing increase of cost or scale of a device. <P>SOLUTION: In a printer 10, a switch 35 is provided in electric wiring 34 supplying power supplied from the commercial AC power source 13 to a built-in CD/DVD drive device 32 or a print mechanism 50 through a power supply line 16 or the like, and a capacitor 17 is connected to the power supply line 16. In the printer 10, when a power failure occurrence signal is outputted from a power failure detection sensor 28 by a stop of the supply of the power from the commercial AC power source 13, a main controller 20 uses electronic energy stored in the capacitor 17 through a DC/DC converter 37, controls the switch 35 to cut off the electric wiring 34, and stores the data to be backed up in EEPROMs 36, 58. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
