PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the sound quality of a musical piece which is reproduced depending upon not only the category (genre) of the musical piece, but also the type of a reproducing device. SOLUTION: A communication terminal 103 reports machine type identification information on itself and identification information on the musical piece to be reproduced to a data center 108 and acquires corresponding sound quality information. When the target musical piece is reproduced, the sound quality is controlled according to the sound quality information. The sound quality information includes a plurality of control parameters corresponding to a plurality of categories of the musical piece even for the same machine type and selectively uses the control parameters according to categories of respective musical pieces.
