摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably switch signal light regardless of polarization states of the signal light and control light and to stably and correctly measure an optical waveform. SOLUTION: An optical switch 100 is provided with polarization controllers 102a and 102b controlling polarization of input signal light and control light respectively in fixed directions, a nonlinear medium 104 multiplexing and transmitting the signal light and the control light whose polarization directions are controlled by the polarization controllers 102a and 102b and generating an intensity correlation signal of the signal light and the control light and a signal light outputting part 113 extracting and outputting a polarization component in the prescribed polarization direction of the signal light passing through the nonlinear medium 104. The optical switch 100 monitors polarization states of the signal light and the control light passing through the nonlinear medium 104 and performs feedback control of the polarization controllers 102a and 102b on the basis of the monitored polarization states.
