PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric contact device which can suitably suppress generation of arc discharge at the contact. SOLUTION: The electric contact device is equipped, for example, with a plurality of branch units connected parallelly to each other. The plurality of branch units each contains the electric contact composed of a first contact portion C1 and a second contact portion C2 which open and close mechanically and having a contact resistance to prohibit the discharge current from flowing in the branch unit.
