PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an organic EL device without defects or unevenness by forming a membrane excellent in membrane thickness uniformity without rejecting ink or the like, in a method forming a hole transmission layer by imprinting ink by a slit coat method in a pixel partitioned by barrier ribs. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an organic EL device includes at least a process forming a barrier rib pattern on a transparent substrate, and a process forming a hole transmission layer with hole transmission ink coated on a region surrounded by the barrier rib by a slit coating method. An ink volume right after coating of the hole transmission ink on the substrate, that is, a membrane thickness in an undesiccated state is set in a suitable range. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
