<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which ensures proper cleaning property and allows high-quality image formation over a long period of time, because an image carrier avoids nonuniform wear, reduces the environmental load, substantially avoids photoreceptor wear due to the friction between the image carrier and cleaning blade, and has superior durability. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises the image carrier, a charging means for uniformly charging the image carrier; a latent image forming means for forming a latent image on the surface of the charged image carrier; a developing means for developing the latent image, formed on the surface of the image carrier with a developer, including a toner to which at least a lubricant has been added externally, to form a toner image; a transfer means for transferring the toner image formed on the surface of the image carrier to a transfer body; and a cleaning means for removing residual toner on the surface of the image carrier after the transfer, wherein a lubricant is preliminarily applied to the surface of the image carrier, prior to use. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
