PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovery method which enables a reliable recovery action by preventing an inconvenience due to inks discharged to a cap. SOLUTION: Ink discharged from an ink discharge opening of a recording head 22K temporarily gathers in the cap 52 but flows into a buffer tank 92, passing through an ink channel 86, an air release valve 88 and an ink channel 90. The ink flowing into the buffer tank 92 is held in a position where its balance is kept by a fall and prevented from flowing back to the cap 52. Since an air communication pipe 94 is arranged in the upper wall of the buffer tank 92, pressure in the buffer tank 92 never increases. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
