The carbon dioxide collecting system comprises a band coated with calcium hydroxide (Ca (OH)2) which is mounted on the rotor of a wind turbine. The coating can be regenerated by heating at 900 - 1200[deg] C in an electric furnace. The carbon dioxide liberated is optionally heated to 2400[deg] C and passed into water to produce hydrogen.
