ENDLESS TRACK BELT AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME

An endless track belt (20) for use in an industrial or agricultural vehicle is described. The endless rubber track belt (20) includes a rubber carcass having an inner surface (26) having one or more drive lugs (16) and an outer surface (22) having tread lugs (24). The drive lugs (16) include reinforcement layers (40, 50, 60) that partially or substantially cover all or a portion of the end faces (23, 25) of the drive lugs (16). The reinforcement layers (40, 50, 60) may include continuous strips (4), or discrete strips (50). The reinforcement layer (40, 50, 60) may also be fabric cutouts (60) to match the shape of the drive end faces (23, 25) of the drive lugs (16).
