<p>The present invention relates to absorbent articles comprising at least a liquid acquisition layer and an underlying liquid storage layer, said absorbent article comprising lactic acid producing bacteria. The lactic acid producing bacteria are dispersed in a hydrophobic carrier and the article further comprises at least one super-absorbent polymer. At least a part of the total amount of super-absorbent polymer and at least a part of the total amount of the bacteria are present in the liquid storage layer.</p> |
