<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black ink composition which uses a non-polar aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent as a solvent and is excellent in the dispersibility and dispersion stability of carbon black as a black pigment. <P>SOLUTION: This black ink composition for oily marking pens is characterized by comprising at least one aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent selected from 5 to 12C paraffins, 5 to 12C isoparaffins and 5 to 12C cycloparaffins, a resin soluble in the solvent, carbon black, and a coupling agent in an amount of 0.001 to 3 wt.% based on the ink composition.
