PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnified image observation apparatus, or the like, that is not limited in a visual field obtained with an objective lens of lowest magnification for the a range of a wide-region image. SOLUTION: The magnified image observation apparatus for displaying a magnified image of an observed object includes an optically imaging system for acquiring the image of the observation object; a wide region image display region WA for displaying the wide region image WI imaging the observation object at a low magnification; a display part having a magnified image display region MA for displaying a magnified image MI imaged at a high magnification; a memory part for previously acquiring a plurality of wide-region images WI and holding each of them; a specimen mounting part 28 for mounting the observed object; and a moving mechanism for relatively moving the specimen mounting part 28 with respect to the optical imaging system. The apparatus can switch the wide-region image WI displayed on the wide region image display region WA and the apparatus can register the plurality of the wide-region images, can display to properly switch them, and can search the visual field of a wider range, without being limited by the display region of a single wide-region image.
