PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure in reference to the packaging of a polarized component into a printed circuit board and, more specifically, a structure which permits the detection of incorrect insertion of the polarized component into the printed circuit board upon packaging the polarized component into the printed circuit board and to provide the method of the detection. SOLUTION: The incorrect insertion detecting structure of the polarized component into the printed circuit board is equipped with the polarized component, whose specified terminals are formed so as to have a predetermined configuration, check terminals consisting of conductors having a predetermined packaging height and the printed circuit board while the polarized component is packaged into the printed circuit board at a predetermined position and the check terminals are packaged at positions whereat the shaped parts of the specified terminals of the polarized component are brought into contact with the check terminals. In this case, lands or pads connected respectively to the specified terminals and check terminals of the polarized component are employed as the measuring pads for detecting the incorrect insertion through conduction check.
