PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrothermal treatment apparatus, wherein the time to treat an object such as an organic material to be treated can be shortened and the whole surface of the object to be treated can be treated uniformly while reducing the manufacturing cost of the hydrothermal treatment apparatus. SOLUTION: A cylinder 6, which extends vertically and has many holes 6a on the peripheral wall thereof, is arranged in a treatment vessel 2 to form a circular housing part 11 for housing the object to be treated on the outside of the cylinder 6. The water 9, in which the object 8 to be treated in the circular housing part 11 is immersed, is housed in both of the circular housing part 11 and the cylinder 6 so that the water 9 can move through the perforated peripheral wall of the cylinder 6. A heater 5 is arranged on the bottom side of the treatment vessel 2 at the least. Such a thermal convection current that the water 9 descends or ascends in the cylinder 6 is formed in the treatment vessel 2 by starting the heater 5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
