<p>Provided is a capacitor used in a hybrid vehicle. The capacitor can further increases the capacitance with a smaller size and reduces the resistance. A pair of positive and negative electrodes obtained by forming a carbon-based electrode layer on a collector formed by a metal foil are wound via a separator so as to obtain an element having opposing end faces where a pair of electrode portions are formed. The element has one electrode portion shorter than the other electrode portion. Since it is possible to increase the effective electrode surface under the limit condition that the elements should have the same height so as to be mounted in a cylinder of predetermined dimensions, it is possible to simultaneously realize the increase of the capacitance and the reduction of the resistance.</p> |
