The present invention relates to a heat pipe including a screen mesh wick therein having a stack of at least one sparse mesh and at least one dense mesh, and a cooling apparatus using the heat pipe. A refrigerant is injected into the heat pipe in such an amount that liquid films formed at the adjacent intersections of the sparse mesh are connected to each other, and the condensed refrigerant suitably flows vertically and/or horizontally through the sparse mesh.
