An apparatus for detecting a crack of a cylinder block and a method thereof are provided to implement stable sealing and improve durability of a column type sealing member to seal an oil hole. An apparatus for detecting a crack of a cylinder block includes a sealing plate. A plurality of column type sealing members are installed to seal oil holes opened to the bottom side of a cylinder block(1). A plurality of circular sealing members are installed to seal oil holes of a crank shaft receiving portion of the cylinder block. A plurality of air injection nozzles(11) are installed to seal crank cap installation bolt holes(9) so as to inject compressed air into the centers of the crank cap installation bolt holes.
