A digital broadcasting system and a method of processing data are disclos ed. The method of processing data includes grouping a plurality of enhanced data packets, each having information included therein, thereby creating a d ata group, creating and indicating an identification signal in a predetermin ed position of at least one enhanced data packet within the data group, the identification signal designating insertion of a field synchronization signa l within a data frame, multiplexing the enhanced data packet of the data gro up and a main data packet, thereby creating a data frame, and inserting a fi eld synchronization signal within the data frame based upon the enhanced dat a packet having the identification signal indicated therein.
