A coated porous metering device is provided to employ a metering member to measure information about a media in a gas, viscous, or paste state. A metering device(1) includes a metering unit(2) and a base member(3) having fluid or gas transmittance. The metering device includes a first surface(4), a second surface(6), and a jacket surface(8). The first surface is in the contact with an introducing passage(5) for fluid or gas. The second surface comes in contact with a passage(7) through which a media in a viscous state or a paste state passes. The jacket surface has a shape partially identical to that of a metering unit receiving recess(9). The metering unit is fixed into the base member to form a fluid transmitting unit(13).
