PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable terminal equipment capable securely preventing misoperation for input etc., from an input means such as a touch panel by grasping the use state of a user who is having speech communication with a partner through a simple system. SOLUTION: A CPU calculates input values of a speech signal based upon an environmental sound picked up by a microphone for environmental sound acquisition and a speech signal based upon a speech communication sound picked up by a microphone for speech communication (step S4). The CPU judges from the calculation results whether the difference between the input values of the environmental sound and speech communication sound is larger than a prescribed threshold (step S5). When it is judged from the calculation results that the difference between the input values of the environmental sound and speech communication sound is larger than a prescribed threshold, it is judged that the user uses the mobile terminal equipment nearby the speaker for speech communication with high possibility, and the CPU varies the recognition rate of the touch panel (step S6).
