PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple program control method and control management device, preventing all programs from being broken in a computer with finite computer resources. SOLUTION: The multiple program control method for making a computer selectively execute a plurality of programs comprises steps of: storing priority orders of a plurality of programs; determining a new startup program to be newly started according to operation information from a user; determining whether further the new start program can be started or not from the relation between the free space of computer resources and the computer resources consumed in executing the new start program; and starting, when it is determined that the new start program can be started, the new start program after stopping a program lower in priority order than the new start program.
