PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging member which achieves satisfactory crack performance while retaining electrical stability. SOLUTION: The imaging member includes a substrate, a charge generating layer thereon, a first charge transport layer containing a low molecular charge transport material and a high molecular component selected from the group consisting of a polyarylamine polyester, a polyacylamine and a mixture and a combination of those on the charge generating layer, and a second charge transport layer disposed on the first charge transport layer, wherein the second charge transport layer contains a low molecular charge transport material and a binder, and the second charge transport layer does not contain a polyarylamine polyester or a polyacylamine at all.
