PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus capable of providing reasons when the induction route is changed. SOLUTION: A map 30 around one's own vehicle position is displayed on a display screen, and an own vehicle position mark 32 is displayed at the own vehicle position. A route-retrieved induction route 31a is overlaid and displayed on the map 30. When a VICS information receiving section of the navigation apparatus receives VICS information, and detects traffic congestion on the induction route 31a, route retrieval is performed again in order to avoid the traffic congestion. Then, the retrieved induction route 31b is displayed on the display screen, and a re-retrieval reason screen 33 showing the reason of re-retrieval "Reroute is performed due to traffic congestion" is displayed as a pop-up screen.
