PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a droplet discharge device which realizes a reduction of noise by eliminating a motor. SOLUTION: The droplet discharge device can generate negative pressure in the first space portion 150 in a cylinder 94 by sliding the cylinder 94 by using the ascend and descend of a recording head 30. Consequently, the motor to slide the cylinder 94 is not required. Consequently, since the number of motors does not increase more than necessary (a motor for a suction mechanism can be made unnecessary), nose caused by the driving sounds of motors provided in the inkjet recording device 12 can be reduced.
