PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weatherability test method having superior reproducibility of deterioration under a furthermore natural environment and having very promoting capability, by adding newly radicalized gas to deterioration factors, other than deterioration factors, such as light, temperature or humidity, and to provide a weatherability tester for executing the weatherability test method. SOLUTION: A test tank formed of a rectangular-parallelepiped or cylindrical light-transmissible glass is installed vertically; the pressure in the test tank is kept constant by an evacuation pump; and high frequency discharge is generated between electrodes facing on the outer wall of the test tank to generate plasma, and radicalized gas is generated, brought into contact with a sample, and then irradiated with a light.
