PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the dead load of a piston or a load cell from being applied to a test piece at the time of abnormality or the like of a test. SOLUTION: When the pressure receiving area on the side of the upper rod of the piston 101b is set to A1 and the pressure receiving area on the side of the lower rod of the piston 101b is set to A2, A1<A2 is set. When abnormality is detected during a test, a control circuit 200 stops an electromotor 108 and turns a switching valve 104 to an initial position. By this constitution, the pressure oil accumulated in an accumulator 110 under pressure is supplied to the first and second cylinder chambers 101c and 101d of a hydraulic cylinder 100 and the piston 101b is raised according to the difference between the pressure receiving areas.
