PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential pressure valve with a damper device not affected by the fluctuation of the pressure of a secondary side fluid. SOLUTION: In an expansion device 1 functioning as a differential pressure valve, a damper device isolated from a space formed immediately after the contraction and the expansion is installed on the side of the refrigerant outlet 13. The damper device has first and second damper chambers 22, 24 demarcated by a piston 19 in a housing 10. A shaft 17 formed integrally with a valve element 16 is so held by the housing 10 as to be moved forward and backward in the valve opening or valve closing direction, and is brought into contact with the piston 19 biased by a spring 20 in the valve closing direction. Since the piston 19 with a large pressure receiving area is isolated from the space formed immediately after the contraction and expansion, the expansion device 1 is not affected by the fluctuation of the pressure of the secondary side fluid.
