PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing Fe/Pd composite nanoparticles. SOLUTION: The method for producing the Fe/Pd composite nanoparticles having a Pd phase as a core and an Fe phase as a shell includes the steps of: mixing nanoparticles of Pd having particle sizes of 1 to 100 nm with a detergent, a salt of Fe, and a reducing agent; and reducing Fe ions composing the salt of Fe by heating the mixture to deposit the particles on the nanoparticles of Pd.
