PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the size of pores in a finished product while securing the kneading of raw material powder in a kneading process for kneading the raw material powder and water when a honeycomb structure is manufactured. SOLUTION: Two screws 50 and 60 are set in a cylinder 70, and paddles 52, 62 with elliptical end surfaces are fixed to respective screws 50 and 60. The raw material powder is kneaded by a clearance part to which the paddles 52 and 62 and the inner wall surface of the cylinder 70 come nearest out of clearances formed between the respective paddles 52 and 62 and the inner wall surface of the cylinder 70 and a clearance part when in respective screws 50 and 60, the facing paddles 52 and 62 come nearest to each other.
