PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method of a facing material on a cylindrical core for mold, which method can prevent facing liquid from coming into a side wall inside the core, without using a floating plate or a blocking plate urged upward in a facing liquid tank. SOLUTION: The cylindrical core with its upper end closed by a lid is immersed in the facing liquid tank, and a pressurized air is sent inside the core. Thereby, the outside face of the core is coated with the facing material, while the inside face is prevented from being coated by suppressing the rise of the facing liquid.
