The transmission power control method has the transmission power adjusted as a function of the power information received. The transmitter has two power amplifiers (PA1,PA2) which are individually selectable together covering the total power plane. Each amplifier covers a different power zone, and is selected as a function of transmission efficiency. There is a transmission interrupt criteria, after which the amplifiers are reset.
