The collision prediction device (1) has several sensors (20,30), such as a radar and camera, to determine by different mechanisms an object in front of a vehicle (A). A control unit (10) is provided to select a sensor suitable for a determined state, and, on the basis of information which is obtained by the selected sensor, predicts a collision between the vehicle and the object in front of the vehicle. An independent claim is included for a method for the prediction of a collision between a vehicle and an object by means of the aforesaid collision prediction device. |
