<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device for use in various electronic devices, which is manufactured at low cost and ensures its opening and closing operation. <P>SOLUTION: By elastically bringing a movable cam 37 which is projectingly formed on the inner periphery of a substantially ring-like movable body 36 into contact with an inverse cam 44 after the inverse cam 44 has moved in the axial direction, the movable cam 37 is rotated at a predetermined angle while elastically in contact with the inverse cam 44. Accordingly, it is unnecessary to provide a fixed cam 32 on a stator 31 within a region corresponding to the rotation angle of the movable cam 37. Since the fixed cam 32 is formed not wholly but only partly on the outer periphery of the stator 31, the stator 31 is manufactured relatively easily by molding or the like.
