<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system that can determine memory status such as wear and efficiently use a memory. <P>SOLUTION: The memory system comprises a NAND flash memory 1 on which data can be electrically written/erased, a nonvolatile memory 2 which counts the number of erasure cycles of the NAND flash memory 1 and holds the number of erasure cycles and a maximum number of erasure cycles, and a controller 3 which has a connection interface 31 to which a self-diagnosis command is given from a computer 4, takes out the number of erasure cycles and the maximum number of erasure cycles from the nonvolatile memory 2 at the self-diagnosis command, and outputs them to the computer 4 through the connection interface 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
