PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter material and a filter device capable of acquiring safe leukocyte-containing liquid suppressed with the production of inflammatory cytokine; and a method for acquiring the leukocyte-containing liquid suppressed with the production of the inflammatory cytokine. SOLUTION: This filter material for acquiring the leukocyte-containing liquid suppressed with the production of the inflammatory cytokine of mononuclear cells is characterized in that the surface of a filter carrier having a performance for removing at least part of the leukocyte is covered with ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and the content of ethylene of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is not less than 20 mol% and not more than 70 mol%.
