PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for easily and quickly detecting a specific microorganism such as food-poisoning bacteria and pathogens. SOLUTION: The device for detecting an objective microorganism in a specimen includes a sample collecting means, a vessel containing a medium for culturing the objective microorganism and a means for mixing the specimen with the medium. The medium includes a first medium for proliferating the objective microorganism and a second medium containing a component responding to the objective microorganism or its product.
