摘要 There are disclosed a porous carbon material which comprises a fullerene crystal body and which has an average pore diameter of at least 100 nm that has never hitherto been realized; and a process for producing a porous carbon material which comprises subjecting a fullerene crystal body composed of at least two types of fullerenes each having a different molecular weight to an elution treatment by the use of a solvent which shows a relatively high solubility for at least one fullerene from among the fullerenes constituting the crystal body, and which shows a relatively low solubility for at least one fullerene other than the foregoing. The porous carbon material is preferably used as a carrier for corpuscular catalyst for a fuel cell and also as a base material of a modifying agent for a fuel cell and the like.
