On one main surface of a facing substrate (12), a protruding section (29) composed of protruding sections (29a, 29b) is arranged. The protruding section is made of a material different from that of a seal material for sealing an array substrate (11) with the facing substrate (12) but same as that of color filter layers (21R, 21G, 21B) and a black matrix layer (22). A liquid crystal injecting port is partitioned by the protruding sections (29a, 29b) for injecting a liquid crystal material (LC) between the substrates (11, 12) to form a liquid crystal layer (13). The shape and the sizes of the liquid crystal injecting port are stabilized, and manufacturability is improved.
