ELECTRONIC DISPLAY DEVICE AND THE METHOD THEREOF

An electronic display device and a method for driving the same are provided to display stereo images by controlling odd and even numbered pixels for left and right eyes based on display periods. An electronic display device includes a display unit(100) and a barrier layer(150). The display unit displays images during a first period, which is divided into second and third periods and used for displaying a frame image. The barrier layer includes a first barrier, which is driven during the second period, and a second barrier, which is driven during the third period. In a display area of the display unit that displays planar images, the same planar images are repeatedly displayed during the second and third periods. In a display area of the display unit that displays stereo images, a first image displayed during the second period and a second image displayed during the third period are images that first and second time images are mixed through different sequences.
